Parents Code of Conduct |
- I will positively support and encourage my
child, my child’s teammates and my child’s opponents.
- I realize soccer is a team sport, and will
applaud the successes of all players as well as my own child.
- I will accept the results of every game, and
encourage players to be gracious in victory and to turn defeat into
victory by working to improve.
- I will allow the coach to coach and the
players to play.
- I will help my child fulfill his or her
obligation to the team and be able to talk to the coach.
- I realize the attitudes shown by parents at
games toward their child, the opposing team, the officials and the
coach influences the child’s behavior in sports. Therefore, I will
be a role model of good sportsmanship and expect my child to be the
same.
- I understand that criticism and disrespect
for officials and opponents by parents focused on immediate success
rather than long-range benefits undermines the purposes of sport and
brings undue stress to the coach, officials and players.
- I realize my behavior affects perceptions of
my child, my child’s team and the St. Croix Soccer Club.
